River Parishes Hospital recognized two nurses who have been selected as “Great 100” nurses this year by the Great 100 Nurse Foundation, Emily Fletlcher, an RN in Surgical Services and Leslie Wininger, an RN on the Med/Surg Unit.
Fletcher has been an RN in surgical services for over seven years. She also worked one year as an RN at Baton Rouge General Hospital before coming to RPH.
“Emily is a quiet, diligent nurse,” said Judy Bauer, Surgical Services nurse manager. “She focuses on providing individualized care to assure each patient’s needs are met. She also offers assistance to her coworkers while leaving patient outcome at the forefront.”
Wininger has been employed at RPH for nearly five years. She currently serves as an RN and charge nurse on the Med/Surg Unit.
“If I was a patient, I would want Leslie taking care of me,” said Chris Gatlin, Med/Surg nurse manager. “She treats all of her patients with care, giving special attention to the details of their needs, and she serves as their advocate on a daily basis, making rounds to assure all standards of care are met.”
