Martin re-elected sheriff; Roussel new parish president in St. James

Willy Martin Jr. was re-elected sheriff of St. James Parish with 68 percent of the vote, while Timmy Roussel was elected parish president. Roussel received 63 percent of the vote (6,080), while opponent Rowdy Scott received 37 percent (3,578 votes).

Parish Council District 1: Alvin “Shark” St. Pierre Jr. elected with 53 percent

Parish Council District 2: Jason P. Amato elected with 60 percent

Parish Council District 3: Terry McCreary elected with 51 percent

Parish Council District 4: Ralph Patin elected with 66 percent

Parish Council District 5: Charles “I Spy” Ketchens elected with 60 percent

Parish Council District 7: runoff between Donald Nash and Jimmy Brazan. Both received 44 percent, with Nash ahead slightly 598 votes to 591.
