Lessie Mae Gibson, 87, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at St. Anne General Hospital in Raceland.

She is survived by her son, Layton Ladd, two daughters, Lessie Wheeler and Phyllis Iverson, four sisters, Chatherine Robinson, Yalonde Harris, Velma Hunt and Delma Richard, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton Jelks and Sabra Jelks, husband A. P. Gibson, brother Charles Elton and son J. C. Ladd.
