Warren Francis Bergeron Sr., 81, of Norco passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of 59 years to Marilyn Miller Bergeron and devoted father of Celeste Donaldson (Keith), Joelle Aiple (Roger), David Bergeron (Lisa), Randy Bergeron (Tracey) and the late Warren Bergeron Jr. (Jennifer). He is also survived by his siblings, Deanna Weber and Sandra Almerico, as well as 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Leonce Bergeron and Edith Keller Bergeron, and grandson Warren “Trey” Bergeron III.

He will be deeply missed by a host of nieces and nephews and lovingly remembered by family and friends and all those who knew him. He graduated from Destrehan High School in 1948 and played baseball at Southeastern University College in Hammond. For many years, he attended retreats at Manresa Retreat House and served as retreat captain. He ushered at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco and devoted several hours a week to church work. He retired from Shell Oil Company as the utilities manager after 35 years of service. During the early years at Shell, he played semi-pro baseball as second baseman.

Visitation and services were held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011. Interment immediately followed in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to send their condolences to www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.
