Thirty Hurst eighth-grade students traveled to Lake End Park in Morgan City to represent the Wetland Watchers program at the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program’s 15th La Fete de Ecologie.

The Hurst students are a perfect addition to the festival, which celebrates the ecology, people, culture and history of the estuary in which everyone lives, works and plays. Students presented wetland animals and facilitated crafts and games, as well as highlighting facts about animal mimicry and scat ID for over 5,000 festival visitors.
