Charlene T. Waters, 76, of LaPlace, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace.

Waters, a native of Mississippi, had been a resident of LaPlace for 30 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Waters of LaPlace; two sons, David (Juanita) Davis of Loranger and Larry (Brenda) Davis of Lenox, Ala.; a daughter, Joann (Jerrel) Cain of LaPlace; a brother, Gordon Eugene (Rosie) Taylor of Fulton, Miss.; a sister, Shelby Jean (Dexter) Ramey of Mantachie, Miss.; four grandchildren, Jeremy Cain, Larry Wayne Davis, Bryan Keith Davis and Whitney Davis Harris; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Douglas Waters officiating. Burial followed in Oak Dale Assembly Cemetery in Lenox. Please share your condolences online at www.monroechapel. com.
