HAHNVILLE – The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man and a woman wanted in connection with a Sep. 9 burglary at Norco Elementary School.
Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said detectives have sent out notices for residents and other law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for Chad E. Cooper, 24, and Jessica Cooper, 22, in connection with the school burglary. The couple lives together at a home on Marino Drive in Norco.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, at 3:43 on Sept. 9, a deputy responding to a silent alarm at the school spotted a black Nissan Altima backed up to a building at the school. As he waited for backup, two individuals were spotted running across a footbridge that crosses a drainage canal into the nearby Bonnet Carre Spillway recreational area. The school is situated along the spillway’s eastern guide levee.
Upon examining the car at the scene, Yoes said deputies found three flat screen computer monitors, three speaker boxes and miscellaneous school supplies from the school. The burglars damaged doorframes and windows at the school in attempts to get inside, according to school officials.
Chad Cooper is described as a thin build white male with brown hair, blue eyes and a height of about 5-feet 8-inches tall. He also has a tattoo on his body that reads “Yvette.” He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and pants. Jessica Cooper is described as a thin build white female with brown hair, brown eyes and a height of about 5-feet 7-inches. She also has a tattoo across her neck that reads “Chad.”
Anyone knowing either individual’s whereabouts is asked to contact St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Detective Brad Walsh at 985-783-1135, or 985-783-6807.
