Theresa Louise Sutton Ballard was born Nov. 17, 1942. A native of Reserve and a long-time resident of Gonzales, she was taken away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at the age of 68. She loved cooking, working outdoors and fishing.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, James A. Ballard Jr.; daughter, Debra Ann Ballard; six sisters and four brothers-in-law: Gloria and Renee Miller, Gertrude and John Vicknair, Thelma Spizale, Judy and Richard St. Pierre, Janet and Todd LeBoeuf and Charlotte Kendrick; three brothers and three sisters-in-law: Henry and Melanie Sutton, Clarence and Jan Sutton and Charles and Rena Sutton; father-in-law,  James Ballard Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Tommy “Tinker” Ballard and wife Terri and Ricky Ballard and wife Nancy; and 23 nieces and seven nephews, who knew her as Aunt Tee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Sutton and Thelma Breaud Sutton, and mother-in-law, Joy Ballard.

A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Saturday times are pending. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Pallbearers are Charles “Juicy” Sutton, Clarence “Rooster” Sutton, Henry Sutton, Tommy “Tinker” Ballard, Ricky Ballard, and Pat Arceneaux.
