EDGARD – The Birthday Memorial was to honor the late Terrence “Super” Bethancourt, born Sept. 2, 1983, and the late Travell “Sticky T” Gordon, born Sept. 3, 1979. Both were residents of Wallace and West St. John High Alumni. The event was held at West St. John High gym on Saturday, Sept. 3.
The Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to keep their legacy alive by having their names affiliated with a worthy cause. The scholarship fund will provide one or more West St. John High students with financial assistance for college. This will be a yearly event along with other fundraisers in hopes to continue to provide students with scholarships. There was a volleyball tournament in which each team donated $50 to the fund to play. Black Queens United were the winners of the volleyball tournament.
This was a free event open to the community.
