The Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office is conducting Louisiana’s Annual Voter Registration Week, Aug. 29 – Sept. 2 throughout the state. Secretary of State Tom Schedler is encouraging all Louisiana residents 17-years-old or older who are not registered to vote to visit www.GeauxVote.com or to contact the Registrars of Voters.

The St Charles Parish Registrar of Voters Office will be conducting Voter Registration Drives at the following libraries during Voter Education Week:

• Tuesday, Aug. 30 – East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Drive, Destrehan, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 31 – Paradis Library, 307 Audubon St., Paradis, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 1 – St. Rose Library, 90 E. Club Drive, St. Rose, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The office would like to inform the public of voting options for seniors. Beside voting in person on Election Day or Early Voting at the Registrar Of Voters Office, those who are 65 years of age or older or are mobility impaired may receive their election ballot by mail. They may still vote in person, just do not return the ballot by mail. Additional “Mail Ballot Request Forms” are on the St Charles Parish website: www.stcharlesparish-la.gov/registrar.

On the parish home page the Registrar of Voters Office is located under Parish Governmental Agencies.

In addition to the week’s activities, citizens can always register to vote online at www.GeauxVote.com or while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, Public Assistance Agencies, Public Schools, Colleges and Libraries.

Those interested in registering to vote or making changes to their voter registration should contact the St Charles Parish Registrar of Voters Office at 985-783-5120 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
