RESERVE — Chrissy Carter was crowned St. John Sugar Queen LXIII Saturday Night at the conclusion of the annual extravaganza at St. John Theatre.

Carter, whose sister, Cheree Carter, earned the crown in 2002, is a veteran of the Reserve stage, although this was the first time she competed in the St. Jon Sugar Queen Pageant. She enjoyed vigorous crowd support throughout ther evening and beat out nine other young ladies for the title.

Carter will represent St. John the Baptist Parish at the State Sugar Queen Pageant in New Iberia Sept. 24.
