Elise Schexnayder Roussel, age 79, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at her residence. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, Ladies Auxiliary VFW and St. Ann Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Roussel; three daughters: Cabrini R. Grob (Raymond), Celeste R. Meaux (Kent) and Janee R. Hales (Mark); two sons: Rev. Joseph P. Roussel Jr. CSB and Hart T. Roussel (partner Timothy J. Wood); one sister, Willis Ann S. Williamson; five grandchildren: Heather G. Hidalgo, Raymond P. Grob Jr., Ashley M. Roussel, Taylor J. Meaux and Madeline E. Hales; and two great-grand-children: Allie and Ory Hidalgo.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willis J. Schexnayder and Eugenia Marie Kraemer; and sister, Loni Evans Humphries.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Entombment followed in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church for masses. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher.
