National Health Center week

Luling – St. Charles Community Health Center is celebrating National Health Center Week 2011 with a series of community health events at locations in Luling, Kenner and Norco as part of a weeklong campaign (Aug. 7-13) to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of St. Charles Community Health Center as a major health care provider.

Calendar of events for celebration

• Monday, Aug. 8

9 a.m. – noon: Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening (Luling and Norco), Lobby

Noon – 4 p.m.: Proper Teeth Brushing Demonstration, Luling only (dental supply giveaway)

• Tuesday, Aug. 9

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Information on ADHD in Kenner, Norco and Luling

• Wednesday, Aug. 10

9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Cholesterol Screening

• Thursday, Aug. 11

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Free Foot Screening (Podiatry)

9 a.m. – noon: Breast Examination/Free Mammography (walk-in) for uninsured and underinsured women

• Friday, Aug. 12

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Free Immunization (for uninsured and underinsured children), walk-in must bring immunization record.

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Schools and Sports Physicals $15

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Resource Table in lobby providing information on LaChip/Medicaid and Childhood Obesity

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.: School and Sports Physicals for $15
