After falling to a pair of top contenders, Riverlands picked up its first victory of the season Monday by downing host Ellington, 343-195.

Riverlands took charge in the Freestyle event and though Ellington pushed back in the backstroke event, the Stingrays extended their lead to 203-112 with a dominant 74-30 spread in the breaststroke.

Riverlands edged Ellington in the medley relay, 35 points to 28, but finished strong with a 49-21 score in the final event, the freestyle relay.

Mia Oncale, Thomas Chapman, Lauren St. Martin (three first place finishes), Kerry Brown, Anna Guidry, Maddie Sympson, Alex Miller, Grace Richoux, Shelby St. Pierre, Jacob Palmeture, Evan Richoux, Stevie Noyes, and Merryn Guidry all captured first place awards for Riverlands.

The Stingrays will next host Belle Terre on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
