BOUTTE – Members of the River Region Chamber of Commerce gathered Thursday at Zydeco’s Restaurant in Boutte for a quarterly networking event that spotlighted the resources that the River Parishes has to offer.

The event, dubbed “Bridging the Gap,” featured table displays from 23 member businesses. Fellow members were encouraged to go from table to table to get an idea of what each business has to offer.

“These events are more than just networking,” Said Chamber Executive Director Chassity McComack. “We want fellow businesses to build relationships and get to know each other so that they are more likely to remember who they are.”

In an effort to build those relationships, McComack organized a series of games where members spent a certain amount of time at each table talking with business reps. If he conversation was fruitful, the table rep would disclose information about themselves and the person who collected the most information would receive a door prize.
