laplace – LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Robert Bourgeois and Baskin-Robbins will unite to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department. On Wednesday, April 27, from 5 – 10 p.m. Baskin-Robbins will celebrate 31-cent Scoop Night.
Bourgeois explained, “Everyone is invited and welcome to enjoy 31-cent Scoop Night. Join in the fun and help scoop up thanks to our firefighters. This low price saves the customer $1.69 per scoop and we hope they will donate at least that amount to the local firemen.”
Bourgeois added, “The LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department will have several firemen at Baskin-Robbins to share information on fire safety and joining the volunteer force. We will also host several demonstrations of interest to children and their parents. Firetrucks will be available for children to explore.”
The goal of this event is multi-faceted: to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation; to allow children to meet firefighters and learn about fire safety; to share with the community details of the scope of services the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department provides; and to have fun.
“We hope everyone comes out on April 27 to enjoy ice cream and see the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department presentations. This is a great cause,” said Bourgeois.
