Flavious “Shorty” Meades Jr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

He was the beloved husband of Marie Meades and father of Flavious Meades III (Marlene), Wanda King (Myron) and Sarah (Sally) Bourgeois (Scott). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the son of Gertrude Page Rogers. He is also survived by three sisters and five brothers.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace.

Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Friday, April 15, 2011. Burial followed in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery in LaPlace.
