LAPLACE – Plagued by injuries for the majority of the season, Riverside’s golf team was finally able to field a full team last week at Riverlands Country Club, taking on Destrehan and Lutcher in a match last Wednesday.

Destrehan came out on top, besting all with a score of 184. Riverside took second place with a score of 192, while Lutcher finished with a score of 219.

Miguel Miranda led Lutcher with a score of 41. Jason Forgaty shot 42 for DHS.

Cory Costanza posted a 44 while Todd Millet shot 45 for the Rebels. Lex Sweeney led Lutcher with a 51 while Remy Roper added a 53.

Riverside coach Roy Aubert said that his team has been dealing with injuries ranging from a broken wrist to a sprained ankle to a severe muscle strain, and that he was glad to see his players back together in action.

“Hopefully, all of these injuries will be fully healed by the time we play in our regional tournament,” said Aubert of the tourney set for April 25 at Oak Knoll in Hammond.
