Over 55 students represented the Wetland Watchers and WISE Club Service-Learning Projects from Hurst Middle and Destrehan High along with the Historic New Orleans Collection to facilitate multiple activities for the 16,000 visitors at the Audubon Zoo Earthfest. Student-led activities included wildlife identification, creating wetland-themed crafts, creating a huge canvas of painted wetland animals to be displayed in the Zoo Education classroom and distributing over 2,000 cypress trees for people to plant near their homes. This

was the 13th year the Wetland Watcher students exhibited at the Audubon Zoo Earthfest.
