Shelby Reine, age 12, from LaPlace, recently competed in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in the 18 and under Reining. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is one of the most prestigious horse shows. It fills the Houston Reliant Arena with world-class horses. Reine was the grand champion with her horse, Intrinsic Ability “Walter” and third place on her horse, Topsail Oak “Fred.” Reine is a member of the Louisiana Quarter Horse Association and the Louisiana Reining Horse Association. She is a sixth-grader at St. Joan of Arc School and the daughter of Michael and Alisha H. Reine.
