The District Level Young Author Winners from Lakewood Elementary are fourth-graders Kylie Webre – first place nonfiction and Caroline Genius – third place poetry; fifth-graders Cameron Matthews – second place nonfiction, Bella Uzzetta – first place nonfiction, Savannah Turner – second place poetry and Taylor Gautreaux – first place nonfiction; and sixth-graders Edwin Coleman – third place nonfiction and Camryn Mikesell – second place poetry.

First place winners in all categories advance to the state competition. All winners for the district will receive a special invitation to attend the District Celebration on May 7, where they will receive a medal, anthology and certificate commemorating their accomplishment.
