RESERVE – The transition from eighth grade to high school is one of the most significant milestones in an adolescent’s life. Nearly 100 students in East St. John High School’s Freshman Success Academy took this transition in stride, achieving the necessary grades to ensure a more than successful academic start to their high school career. The following ninth-grade students finished their first semester of high school with an overall 3.0 grade point average or higher and achieved a 3.0 or higher for at least three of the four fall semester marking periods.

Ninth-graders earning a 4.0 or higher GPA included Briana Bartholomew, Judy Chen, Sara Fryoux, Cheyenne Hay, Clyde Hodge III, Nicole Lorenzo, Raven Pigee and Roshaun Taylor. All of these students have earned a 4.02 GPA or higher as a result of their enrollment in honors level courses.
