Cherie Bergeron, an eighth-grader at St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan, won first place in the Spelling division at the Junior Beta District Day held in Lutcher recently. As the District 11 winner, Bergeron will compete in the Junior Beta State Convention to be held in Lafayette in May.
