Daniel A. “Dan” Foret entered eternal rest Tuesday Oct.12, 2010, at St. James Parish Hospital in Lutcher. He was 85, a native and resident of Lutcher and a former resident of LaPlace.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Sharon Madere Laiche and husband, Clay Maurice Laiche; two step-grandchildren, Kevin Laiche and wife Michelle and Tiffany Laiche Lee and husband Garland; and three step-great-grandchildren, Sam Laiche and Alyson and Madison Lee. Also surviving Foret are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lynn and Marie and Gerald “Jerry” and Catherine Foret, both of Lake Charles and Eugene “Choc” Foret of Midland, Texas, and one sister, Lorraine Foret Larose of Memphis, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Madere Foret, parents, Thomas and Ivonne Bourgeois Foret, a sister, Yvonne Foret Pavy, brothers, Thomas “Buster” Foret and James “Jimmy” Foret, and nephews, Tommy Foret, Dr. John Foret and Philip Pavy.

Foret was a graduate of Lutcher High School, attended McNeese State University and was an employee and manager of A & A Bourgeois Store in Lutcher. He enjoyed bowling, bingo and LSU sports.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Mark Beard officiating. Internment in St. Joseph
