Reed, Blouin lead Dutchtown over Destrehan

DESTREHAN – Dutchtown showed why it is currently ranked as the third best team in Class 5A, trouncing Destrehan 44-10 on the road Friday night.

Dutchtown rushed for 274 yards, including three Effrim Reed touchdowns en route to the victory.

Dutchtown (6-0, 1-0) led 21-3 at halftime on two Reed touchdowns and another by quarterback Leon Blouin. A 5-yard Reed score in the third quarter put the Griffins ahead 28-3, and was the first score in a 23 point third by Dutchtown.

Mark Trudeaux scored Destrehan’s lone touchdown on a 5-yard run.

Blouin rushed for 106 yards on nine carries. Reed rushed for 98 on nine.

Three players split time for Destrehan at quarterback. Dillan Dent’s 42 yards led the way.

The Wildcats (2-4, 0-1) were held to 119 yards of offense
