Area residents are invited to come out today from noon until 3 p.m. for the grand opening of Wetland Watchers Park located off Airline Highway in Norco at the end of the spillway’s East Guide Levee Road on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain.

There will be great food, entertainment by award winning singer/ fiddler Amanda Shaw, face painting, hermit crab races and many other activities. Visit with baby alligators, take pictures with Hornets Honeybees and register to win a pair of club seat tickets to a Hornets game.

Food will be available including jambalaya, pastalaya, white beans and Crawfish Monica. All food will be $3 a bowl and all proceeds from the food sales will go to rescued sea turtle and pelican rehab efforts.
