HAHNVILLE – A New Sarpy man was booked on attempted first-degree murder charges after he allegedly threw burning debris into a neighbor’s home, according to a release from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Aaron Adams, 19, of 228 Terrace St., was arrested at his home just after 11 p.m. Wednesday after his neighbor saw him throwing objects at her home, said Capt. Pat Yoes, a public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.

“She was in the kitchen at the time of the incident,” Yoes said. “She smelled something burning and spotted the objects on her bedroom floor. When she looked outside she saw the suspect standing on her lawn.”

Yoes said Adams broke several windows before lighting the objects on fire.

He said investigators do not know the nature of the argument that led to the incident, only that the two individuals are neighbors.

Yoes said the woman was the only occupant of the home at the time of the incident.

Adams was booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility in Killona on one count of attempted first-degree murder.

He is being held at the jail on a $100,000 bond. The sheriff’s office incident is still investigating the incident.
