LAPLACE – A search warrant executed at LaPlace home Friday led to the arrest of two Reserve residents found in possession of more than $20,000 worth of illegal narcotics, according to a release from the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities arrested Nikita Hutchinson, 23, and George Robertson, 20, both of Homewood Place, in connection with the Friday raid on a home in the 100 block of Rosemary Court, said Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.

Clement said the raid was the culmination of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving narcotics agents from St. John Parish, St. James Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish and State Police. He said the agencies also assisted in the execution of the court ordered warrant.

Clement said deputies seized 17.6 pounds of marijuana from the home. The drugs have an estimated street value of $20,000.

Hutchinson and Robertson were each charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Clement said Robertson was also arrested for an outstanding bench warrant and a contempt of court charge.

Hutchinson’s bond was set at $125,000, while Robertson’s bond was set at $125,515.

Both are being held at Sherman Walker Correctional Center in LaPlace.
