LAPLACE – The FirstCall Emergency Notification Service immediately delivers emergency alerts to citizens, first responders and the Emergency Operations Center staff.   It allows government agencies the ability to provide the community with important, timely information about hurricanes, tornadoes, and other high profile events occurring in the area.

This is done using an Emergency Notification Service to landlines, cell phones, SMS text messaging devices, email, pagers and TTY/TTD devices.

Over 30,000 residents can be alerted with important information in five minutes or less.

To receive these emergency notifications to your home phone, cell phone, email, or SMS texting device, residents must sign up for the service.

Residents may sign up for the service by visiting the home page of the Parish’s website at www.sjbparish.com and clicking on the FirstCall – Interactive Network link.

“The FirstCall system allows us to communicate with a large number of residents in a short period of time.  I encourage all of our residents and business owners to sign up for this service,” said Parish President Natalie Robottom.
