RESERVE — The renovations at East St. John’s Joe Keller Memorial Stadium are right on schedule, scheduled to be finished well in time for the River Parishes Jamboree in late August.

The biggest change will come to the school’s track, as both East St. John and West St. John are receiving new state of the art Mondotrack surfaces.

“It’s the best you can get,” said ESJ athletic director Larry Dauterive.

In addition, there will be a new set of bleachers on the visitors sideline, redone bathrooms, a refurbished pressbox, a redone concession area new handicapped parking areas and improved wheelchair access to the stadium seats.

Dauterive said that these improvements are just the first phase of the process Joe Keller’s makeover, and that it is set to be finished on August 16, almost three weeks before the team’s jamboree opener.

“We’re excited about it,” Dauterive said. “It should make for a better experience for everyone on game night.”
