Start your day off in a positive way

A person determines how they will spend their day by the way they spend the first few minutes immediately after awakening. I believe that most people put more effort into preparing how they will live their earthly life than where they will spend eternity.
I’m basically a positive person. I wake up early and look forward to living one day at a time. I like to keep informed on what’s going on nationally and locally. Of course, not much in the world news is positive.
If we focus early in the day on the happenings in the world, it’s easy to start the day with a negative attitude. Our attitude is the one thing we can control, but few of us put much effort into cultivating a healthy, positive one.
The first half of this year has been good for me. I attribute that to a New Year’s resolution I made and have kept. I made a decision that I would continue to wake up early, but instead of being concerned about the worldly news, I would spend at least 45 minutes reading the Bible and praying. What a difference it’s made in my attitude and the way I manage my day!
I’ve come to the realization
that preparing for my eternal
destination is the most important thing for me, my family, and the people to whom God allows me to minister.
Does that mean that I’m not interested in what’s going on in the country and my community? No. It’s just that I’ve made a decision to finally get my priorities in order.
For today, I will live it like it could be my last but plan my day like I will live forever.
With that mind-set, my daily walk will be exciting and rewarding, and my eternal destiny is guaranteed. That’s positive.
