LAPLACE – Riverlands finished its season on a four meet winning streak on Thursday night, topping visiting LaVacherie in a close 294.5-258.5 meet.
The difference came primarily in two events: Riverlands won the breaststroke, 62-45 to extend a five point lead to 172.5-150.5. Then, the Stingrays won six of the 10 medley relay races for a 14 point spread. The rest of the night was virtually dead even, with the teams actually tying in the freestyle relay and the butterfly events.
It clinched another top three finish for the Stingrays (4-2) in the River Parish Swim League regular season. It will try to repeat the feat at the swim league invitational on July 9, 10 and 11.
Riverlands’ Merryn Guidry, Will Torres and Anna Guidry each captured the top spot in all three of their individual events.
Daniel Jaubert, Jack Chapman and Cade Prejeant each took a pair of first place wins.
Gabbie Montz, Brett Landry, Alex Zenicki, Wesley Melancon, Riley LeBlanc, Jude Donnaud, Elizabeth Prince and Caroline Bene wrapped up first place winners for Riverlands.
