RPH’s doctor of the month

River Parishes Hospital recently selected Brad Thompson, MD, a General and Vascular Surgeon, as its Doctor of the Month for June. Thompson was presented with a Doctor of the Month plaque by the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer Tom Ramsey.

All physicians on staff at River Parishes Hospital are eligible for this recognition. Each month, one physician is selected based on his or her positive attitude, recognized skills as a physician, excellent interactions with patients and staff and willingness to go the “extra mile” to help patients and staff.

Thompson has been on staff at River Parishes Hospital for over six years and currently serves as the hospital’s chief of surgery. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed a Surgical internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as chief administrative resident. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and River Parishes Medical Society.

“Dr. Thompson is kind and considerate to his patients as well as the surgical staff,” said Judy Bauer,

surgical services director.

“We are fortunate to have such a dedicated physician

on our staff as he volunteered to serve a second term as chief of surgery to assure the highest quality of care at RPH,” added Charlotte Dupré, chief executive officer.

Thompson’s practice, Riverside Surgical Associates, is located at 501 Rue de Santé, Suite 2 in LaPlace. He is available on a full-time basis to see patients. His office phone number is 985-652-7880.
