Broussard grandchildren receive high honors

LAPLACE – Julia Broussard graduated cum laude from Tulane University in New Orleans and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. She’s a graduate of The Louisiana School for Math Science and the Arts, having attended East Iberville School through the 10th grade. Julia received a BA in French and Sociology and will be pursuing a master’s degree in social work at LSU.

She also received the award for outstanding student in sociology for the highest grade point average among sociology majors, leadership in the sociology club and other areas of student life, active and enthusiastic participation in all classes and being a model student, the Newcomb Memorial College Institute Oak Wreath bestowed upon 20 senior women who have distinguished themselves through an engaged pursuit of learning, leadership in student activities, and contributions to the Newcomb/Tulane community, the Alpha Epsilon Phi Award in romance languages for having maintained the highest cumulative grade point average of all students majoring in French and Italian and the French Government Book Prize in recognition of outstanding French scholars.

Gabriel Broussard received a Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree from LSU/BR. He is a graduate of East Iberville School and a magna cum laude graduate of LSU. Gabriel will be continuing his employment at Fox-Nesbit Engineering LLC in Baton Rouge.

They are the children of David and School Board Member Nancy Broussard of St. Gabriel and the grandchildren of Marion and Virgle Broussard and Ann and the late Henry Tatje Jr. of LaPlace.
