River Parishes Hospital recently selected Linda Thompson, MD, a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon, as its Doctor of the Month for the month of May 2010. Thompson was presented with a Doctor of the Month plaque by hospital Chief Executive Officer Charlotte Dupré.

Thompson has been on staff at River Parishes Hospital for over six years. She received her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopedic Surgery from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn.

“Dr. Thompson is very compassionate and dedicated to the care of her patients,” said Dupré. “She wants to be kept aware of both her inpatients’ and outpatients’ progress after a procedure and is quick to follow-up on any issues or concerns. We are fortunate to have her as a member of the River Parishes Hospital Medical Staff.”
