Harry Hurst eighth graders (left to right) Annie Duplantis, Ian Rogers and Courtney Parker were recently interviewed on Radio Disney New Orleans 1450 for the Disney Kids Concerns Show that airs each Saturday along with science teacher, Barry Guillot (far left), about their participation in the Wetland Watchers Service-Learning Project. Topics ranged from the newly built Wetland Watchers Park in Norco to the students’ thoughts about the massive oil spill in the Gulf. Hurst student Courtney Parker ended the interview with “I think the work we do is important because we are teaching others to appreciate how important our home land is because this is where we live and we need to do what we can to help out local wetlands and to slow down coastal land loss in Louisiana.”
