A job is not work if you enjoy it

I’ve heard it said and I firmly believe if a person finds a job they enjoy and have a passion for, they never have to work.
The corporate world is said to be a rat race. In other words, people do anything to climb the corporate ladder, not realizing that if they reach the top, they’re still a rat.
Throughout my life, I kept looking for the right job that would be exciting and fulfilling. After a tour of duty in the Navy, I worked at Kaiser Aluminum and later was an insurance representative and then was in politics and banking.
At age 45, after losing a job, I enjoyed doing a little counseling work (a good cover-up for being unemployed.)
Having no direction in life, I was forced to allow God to lead the way. In February of 1980, the ministry of Get High on Life was founded. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years. I’m a good example of someone not knowing what to do and allowing God to take control.
People often ask me when I’m going to retire. I respond that I can’t because I don’t work. That’s right! For the past 30 years, I’ve enjoyed just being a laborer in God’s ministry of Get High on Life.
I often tell people that I never knew I could be so happy. At 75 years of age, I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone.
Some people complain about what people consider their “golden years.” I’m not one of them. I’ve never enjoyed life so much, and every day I get excited about waking up early and looking forward to what God has in store for me.
