A ‘Spring Fling’ for the arts

LaPlace – The River Region Arts & Humanities Council will host a fund raiser at the St. John Parish Civic Center on Saturday, March 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is a champagne luncheon and fashion show called “A Spring Fling for the Arts!” with food, fun and fashions.

Spring time in South Louisiana, with scenes of Louisiana cypress amongst a carpet of blue and yellow irises, will be the backdrop for the show.

Bull’s Corner Restaurant of LaPlace will be preparing a buffet luncheon of creole hot house tomatoes with spanish onions, feta cheese, basil dijon vinaigrette, spring vegetable saute’ and chateau potatoes, stuffed prime rib portobello with roasted shallot merlot sauce and a Ponchatoula strawberry and cream tart. A cash bar will be available.

Sugar Bear and Jazz Cats will be providing music. There will be a silent action. During the champagne luncheon, RRAHC has arranged for a fashion show by Steinmart with Joan Ingram. The fashion models will be representatives from the three River Parishes: Senator Joel T. Chaisson II, Alanea Champagne and Susan Ferrara from St. Charles Parish; Nicole Scontrino and Mike and Tanyia Tregre from St. John the Baptist Parish and Chassity McComack from St. James Parish.

There will be reserved seating.
