DELONG

Richard L. DeLong, a native of Hamburg, Ill., and a resident of Zachary, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was 76 and a retired Clock and Antique Repair owner, but he is best known locally as a former St. John the Baptist Parish School Board member.
DeLong served on the board for 10 years and even served as board president. He retired in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda DeLong, three daughters, Karen DeLong Twohig and husband Andrew, Penny Blanchard and husband Larry and Margie Lazenby, two sons, Gregory DeLong and wife Dorothy and Louis DeLong, a sister, Patricia Danzer and husband Ron, a brother, James DeLong and wife Rebecca, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
