Bradley Richard Bourgeois was taken away from us much too young at the age of 32. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kristy Bergeron Bourgeois, his daughter, Kailey Marie Bourgeois, and stepson, Chance Oubre. He is survived by his loving parents, Richard “TeRich” and Tania Bourgeois, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jason and Jennifer Stafford Bourgeois and Ricky and Heidi Duhe Bourgeois, and godchild Maddie; maternal grandmother Jewel Decareaux Bourgeois, mother-in-law and father-in-law Jennifer and Warren Bergeron Jr., sister-in-law Amy Schexnayder Oubre and spouse Rob and brother-in-law Michael Schexnayder.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Lee Bourgeois, and paternal grandparents, Emile and Isabel Louque Bourgeois.

Brad leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was known affectionately as “Sweet” because of his sweet cheeks and beautiful smile. He was a 1995 graduate of Lutcher High School and a graduate of Southeastern University. He had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was employed by Marathan Oil in Garyville as a lab technician.

Visitation will be at Alexander Funeral Home, 2208 Jefferson Highway in Lutcher, on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum with Fr. Frank Uter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund in the name of Kailey Bourgeois has been established at First American Bank, 2161 Hwy. 3125 in Lutcher.
