The Senior Friends Members at River Parishes Hospital recently attended their bi-monthly meet and greet luncheon in the hospital’s Medical Pavilion Conference Room.

This meet and greet had a tailgate party theme. Members were asked to wear their favorite team’s shirt or jersey. Each member was invited to bring a guest to learn about the benefits available to them by becoming a member of the Senior Friends Program.

All guests enjoyed a tailgate-style lunch followed by presentations by two new physicians on staff at River Parishes Hospital, Dr. Rachel Bezdek, an OB/GYN, and Dr. Daniel Kurica, an Opthalmologist.

Bezdek spoke about women’s health needs as you age. Kurica discussed vision problems that most senior are faced with and the treatment options that are available. A brief question and answer period followed each presentation. Afterwards, guests were eligible for door prizes.
