TEAM OF THE WEEK: Hahnville High School

Hahnville was tabbed as one of the preseason picks to win it all in Class 5A, and the Tigers have done nothing but make many prognosticators feel very smart this season. Only Lutcher has a win over HHS (in double O.T.), and no other team has even come within 31 points of the District 6-5A co-leaders. This past week, Dutchtown stood firm for a half and trailed by one score entering halftime, and would end up falling 41-7. Alfred Blue scored three times, and Brian Ensminger threw two second half scores. Hahnville appears to be on a collision course with East St. John for the District 6-5A title. A trip to the Superdome may not be far behind. Click on the video link to see Coach Lou Valdin’s thoughts on his team’s win against Dutchtown.
