St. Charles Borromeo School P.T.F.O. BoxTops coordinator Donna Blanchard issued a challenge for students to collect as many box tops for

the 2008-2009 school year. As the reward to the students, principal Donalyn Hassenboehler agreed to sit on the first- and second-grade

school rooftop one hour for every 10,000 box top collected.

At the end of the school year, the grand total collected and submitted to the company was over 40,000. Students returned from the weekend to find their principal sitting on the rooftop. The school’s grand total received last year from the collection of box tops was $3,522.
