District 6-5A got its first taste of East St. John’s lethal offense on Friday night.

Specifically, St. Amant bore the brunt of the Wildcats offensive attack, as ESJ powered its way to a 53-21 win at Joe Keller Stadium.

Kalen Henderson ran for 66 yards and three scores and was efficient through the air, completing 10-of-15 passes for 260 yards and a score.

Reynaldo Young rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown.

Henderson and Dhaquille Williams combined to score three first quarter touchdowns — the latter scoring on a punt return and a 30-yard reception from Henderson.

Young’s touchdown five seconds into the second quarter lifted ESJ to a 27-0 lead, putting the Gators in the Wildcats’ rearview mirror.
