Baton Rouge – Keep Louisiana Beautiful is sponsoring its first poster design contest for students statewide. The contest will kick off on Monday, Sept. 28, with a call for entries. Middle and high school students (grades 7-12) are eligible to enter through Friday, Oct. 16.

The program, created by Keep Louisiana Beautiful, gives Louisiana students the chance to design a portrait of what Louisiana would look like if citizens refrained from littering, recycled more and took time to beautify the state’s landscape. Students residing in Louisiana can send entries in via mail or electronically.

At the end of the contest period, the winning student’s design will be featured as a poster that will be displayed in all Louisiana Offices of Motor Vehicles and will be awarded $500. The second place winner will receive $350 and third place $150.
