Taylor Wyble, a junior at Destrehan High School, was chosen over hundreds of students to attend “STAR.”  STAR is a free, educational summer camp sponsored by the Academics Division of Ochsner Health System. It provides qualified high school students with a unique opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in medicine and healthcare from Oschner’s physicians, nurses and administrators.

Taylor was asked about her experience at the program and what she learned. She stated, “Attending the program was one of the best experiences of my life. I learned a lot, from gene cloning to genetically modifying food. I also met many people in higher positions. I can honestly say that attending STAR opened my eyes and that my future career plan had definitely changed.”
