East St. John has certainly impressed in 2009. A team that returned only two of 22 starters, the Wildcats won their first three games this year, averaging 35 points per game in doing so. The offense revolves around Tulsa commitment Kalen Henderson at quarterback, versatile running back Reynaldo Young and gifted Dhaquille Williams at wide receiver. The teams offensive line has matured faster than anyone would have imagined. While Rummel tagged ESJ with its first loss on Friday night, the Wildcats went toe to toe with the second ranked Raiders in a 20-14 loss, indicating that this is a team that could make an impact come playoff time.
