LAPLACE – Pre-schoolers at Wee Care Pre-School in LaPlace spent Wednesday morning learning about the unpredictable world of weather with local meteorologist Chris Franklin of WVUE-TV in New Orleans.
Franklin engaged the 3- and 4-year-olds with a discussion on the why and how of certain weather changes. He also talked a little bit about what kind of clothing to wear for each type of weather.
Franklin explained that when he was younger, he used to be afraid of dangerous weather and said that was part of the reason he decided to take a job as a meteorologist. In his discussion, he touched on what to do when severe storms, like hurricanes and tornadoes hit.
In a strange coincidence, as Franklin got deeper and deeper into discussion, the weather outside slowly deteriorated from sunshine, to partial cloud cover, to complete cloud cover and eventually heavy rain.
