LAPLACE — A pair of Garyville men were arrested Friday afternoon in connection with an armed robbery incident earlier that day in which a Reserve man was shot in the leg, said a spokesman for the St. John Sheriff’s Office.
Kendrick M. Anderson, 23, of 272 Little Hope St. and Kenneth R. Robertson, 24, of 282 Historic Main St. were booked Friday on charges of second-degree robbery after the two men allegedly mugged a 29-year-old Reserve man in the 200 block of Little Hope Street sometime around 6:24 a.m. Friday, said Capt. Dane Clement, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.
According to the report from the Sheriff’s Office, when deputies arrived they found the victim near the scene with a non-life-threatening injury. Clement said the man, whose name was not released, told deputies he was shot once in the leg after the two suspects robbed him of an undetermined sum of cash. Clement said the victim was able to identify Anderson and Robertson as the robbers.
The victim was transported to St. James Hospital in Lutcher, where he was treated and released.
Both Anderson and Robertson were booked into the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace. Robertson’s bond was set at $20,000, while Anderson, who also faces a contempt of court charge for an unrelated incident, was issued a $20,150 bond.
