Arthur Jones, Sr., 68, a retired laborer with Winn-Dixie, departed this life on Thursday, July 2, 2009 in Reserve. He was the father and father-in-law of Arthur (Sabrina) Jones, Jr. and the late David and Steven Jones; grandfather of Amari Jones, brother of Rebecca (Frank) Jones, Sandra Patterson, Delores Williams, Joseph Jones, Sr., Dorothy Wright, Edward (Ethel) Jones, Sr. and Wilbur (Dee) Jones. He is also survived by former wife Ella Mae Coleman, devoted aunt Mathilda Hooper and devoted niece Sonya W. McKarry and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Jones was a native and resident of Reserve.

Relatives and friends of New Pilgrim Baptist Church, employees of Winn-Dixie and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 107 Pilgrim Dr., Reserve. Rev. Forell Bering, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace under the direction of Hobson Brown Funeral Home.. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the service.
